Kerala gold smuggling case: Principal secretary to CM Vijayan sacked

The principal secretary M Sivasankar to chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan was sacked for his alleged involvement in the Kerala gold smuggling case. Swapna Suresh, a senior officer at Kerala State IT Infrastructure Ltd, is on the run after the gold seizure at the Trivandrum international airport. Opposition leaders allege that there is an alleged link between M Sivasankar and Swapna Suresh. “This is a shame to the state and CM should come clear on the serious allegations. Only a CBI inquiry can unearth the details,” opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala said.
