Kerala floods: Fresh spell of heavy rains hampers relief work, situation still serious
After a brief lull, rains have been lashing several parts of Kerala since morning of 12th August. The rains have hampered relief operations aimed at helping the flood-affected people. Of course, in a major relief, water level in some reservoirs are coming down. More than 60,000 people have been accommodated in relief camps, 15,000 people staying in relief camps in Wayanad district. Around 1,500 houses have been damaged due to rains in past few days, over a 100 have been fully destroyed.
