Cadres of Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha on July 02 took out a protest march against Congress MP Hibi Eden in Thiruvananthapuram. The protest was held over his demand to change the State capital from Thiruvananthapuram to Ernakulam. Hibi Eden the Congress MP from Ernakulam moved the Bill in Parliament in the month of March through State Capital Relocation Bill, 2023. Following this, the Union government sought the opinion of the State government. Meanwhile, fellow party members of Congress MP Hibi Eden have taken a stand against him, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said the proposal was wholly without merit. Notably, the Kerala government has also objected and opposed the demand to change the capital and has urged the union government to dismiss the proposal.
