The rooftop of Sabarimala shrine resembles a valley of flowers on the day of Makarajyothi. Flowers-- mostly imported from Switzerland--arranged overnight in mesmerising patterns are sponsored by a devotee named Ashok Swami, who has been overseeing the same for nearly a decade. The flowers are mostly imported from Switzerland and Malaysia, while some are from Bengaluru. As many as 150 artists are employed by Swami for the decorations. The flowers are brought to Pamba in an air-conditioned vehicle and then taken to Sannidanam in tractors.
