Attappadi Madhu lynching case: Kerala court gives 13 accused rigorous imprisonment for 7 years
A court in Kerala's Palakkad on April 05 pronounced seven years of rigorous imprisonment to 13 of the 14 persons convicted in the 2018 lynching of a tribal youth from Attappady. The Special Court for SC/ST (Prevention Act) at Mannarkad pronounced the verdict on Wednesday in the murder of the tribal youth Madhu. The court awarded 7 years of rigorous imprisonment for 13 convicts and 3-month jail term for the 16th accused. The first accused has to pay a fine of Rs 1,05,000/- while the remaining 12 accused have been imposed with a fine of Rs 1,18,000/-.
