Over 500 birds died in Rajasthan, Govt issues bird flu alert
Over 500 birds, mostly crows, died in Rajasthan prompting the state govt to declare bird flu alert. Hundreds of birds have been found dead due to dreaded avian influenza in three other states including Madhya Pradesh, Kerala and Himachal Pradesh. The bird flu is a highly infectious and severe respiratory disease in birds caused by H5N1 influenza which can spread to human beings and turn fatal.
