Vizag gas leak: Hundreds protest outside LG polymer plant, demand strict police action

Hundreds of people gathered in protest outside the LG polymer plant in Venkatapuram village on May 9. The crowd demanded the immediate arrest of those responsible for the major leak of styrene vapour from the plant on May 7. Protestors alleged insufficient action by the police as no arrests have been made since the filing of the FIR. Later in the day, Director General of Police, Damodar Gowtham Sawang was seen visiting the LG polymer plant, the gas leak claimed 12 lives and affected hundreds, who are under medical treatment currently.
