Hyderabad: JNTUH students hold massive protest, demand scrapping of semester exams

Hundreds of students of the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad protested in front of the University gate demanding their exams be scrapped due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The students are opposing the University's decision to hold semester exams for first to third year students. The students said that first to third year students should be promoted on the basis of previous exams. They are also demanding that 50 percent fee should be waived off. The protest led by the National Students Union of India, the Congress's student wing, turned violent after some students tried to climb the university gate and barge into the campus. Police resorted to mild lathicharge and detained protesting students.
