Chemical waste kills over 20 lakh fish in Hyderabad lake

In a major environmental disaster, chemical waste released by pharma companies in Kazipally Industrial Estate has killed over 20 lakh fish, worth Rs 10 crore, in Gandigudem lake near Patancheru in Sangareddy district. Almost 70 to 80 percent fish died after chemicals released by these companies entered the 266 acre lake due to the recent rains.
