Tablighi Jamaat assembly helped spread Covid among many: Home ministry in Rajya Sabha
The home ministry told the Rajya Sabha that the Tablighi Jamaat assembly in a closed premise in Delhi in March, “also” caused the spread of coronavirus infection among many persons. There had been no adherence to laid-down Covid-19 prevention and containment protocols. MoS (home) G Kishan Reddy had replied to a question by Shiv Sena MP Anil Desai on whether Tablighi Jamaat cadres were a major reason for the spread of Covid-19 in Delhi and other states. Reddy said 2,361 persons of Tablighi Jamaat had been evacuated by Delhi Police from its headquarters at Nizamuddin here since March 29, 2020.
