New Delhi, August 15 : Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud on Independence Day said that the Supreme Court has been a vanguard of institutional governance. He also said that the Executive, Legislature and Judiciary are associated in nation building.“It is important for us to recognise the fact that the Supreme Court Bar, as the leading bar of the country, stands for the protection of the rule of law. The Executive, the Legislature, the Judiciary are associated in the common task of nation building. Our Constitution envisages an important role for the judiciary to ensure that the institutions of governance function within defined constitutional limits. The Supreme Court has been a vanguard of institution governance by enhancing access to justice and promoting constitutional values," CJI said.
