IIT-Delhi develops low-cost Covid-19 test kit, production to begin shortly

Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi has got ICMR approval for its low-cost Covid-19 detection kit, and is now in the process of selecting an industry partner for mass production. This test kit costs just a few hundred rupees, against present kits that cost in thousands. The IIT-Delhi test kit identifies unique regions in the Covid-19/SARS COV-2 genome, and thus detects Covid-19 with 100% accuracy. IIT Delhi has internally funded this research and has now applied for a patent
