Delhi: Woman attacked, paraded with garland of slippers

A shocking incident took place in Delhi’s Shahdara this week. A woman was attacked by a group of people. The accused chopped off her hair, tore her clothes, blackened her face and then paraded her with a garland of slippers. The woman was sexually assaulted by the accused, who are reportedly also selling illicit liquor in the area. Swati Maliwal, chief of Delhi Commission for Women, issued a notice to the Delhi Police after the video of the incident went viral on social media. Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal also termed the incident shameful. DCP Shahdara R Sathiyasundaram said that the four accused have been nabbed and police are investigating the matter.
