Delhi’s ongoing water supply problem may turn into a big crisis this festive season, fears the Delhi Jal Board. Officials warn of low supply from the Yamuna and the progressive reduction in water from the Upper Ganga canal. If these persist, the city will face larger water supply cuts as we move towards Dussehra. More than a quarter of Delhi's water supply comes from the Upper Ganga canal, feeding the Bhagirathi and Sonia Vihar treatment plants. The repair of the Upper Ganga canal has not earlier overlapped with a short supply from Yamuna. On Sunday, DJB issued an advisory stating that water may be available at low pressure in large parts of the city.
