Delhi floods: Traffic stopped at Old Yamuna Bridge as river swells

The traffic has been stopped at the Old Yamuna Bridge after water level in the river showed rising trend after river crossed the danger mark a day before. Yamuna river had crossed the danger mark posing flood-like situation in Delhi after 1.31 lakh cusec water was released by Haryana from Hathnikund barrage. The Flood Control Department in Delhi issued an alert to the villages along the river. Delhi govt has already started the process of evacuating people from low-lying areas of Delhi. Authorities in the national capital have been issued advisory to take appropriate measures to avoid flood-like situation in low lying areas of Delhi.
