Day 5: Delhi shows no improvement in air quality, remains in 'poor' AQI category
The national capital Delhi is reporting poor air quality a few days ahead of Diwali for the fifth consecutive day. Delhi's average Air Quality Index (AQI) reached to 245 on October 21 from 228 a day before, suggesting that the quality is dipping. Delhi lies in the 'poor' AQI category, with these areas like Dwarka, Wazirpur and Anand Vihar in the 'very poor' category. Meanwhile, forecasting agencies say that Delhi's overall air quality will dip to very low by tomorrow. The Graded Response Action Plan Stage-2 has been put in place by the government along with the blanket ban on the sale and usage of firecrackers till January 2023 to tackle air pollution in Delhi and its adjacent areas.
