All sound systems must have limiters: National Green Tribunal

The Delhi government has been asked by National Green Tribunal (NGT) to issue a notification for the mandatory use of sound limiters in all sound systems to curb noise pollution. A bench headed by NGT chairperson Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel said the enforcement of Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000 was “still a far cry” and the authorities should strictly ensure their compliance. A sound or noise limiter is a digital device fitted with a microphone to measure the sound pressure level of environmental noise.
