Tamil Nadu: Enforcement Directorate raids DMK Minister's premises in money laundering case
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids on Monday at the premises of Tamil Nadu Higher Education Minister K Ponmudy and his MP son Gautham Sigamani in connection with a money laundering case. The raids were conducted at the minister's residence in Chennai and his son's residence in Villupuram. The money laundering case against Tamil Nadu minister K Ponmudy and his son Gautham Sigamani is linked to alleged irregularities that took place when Ponmudy was the state mining minister between 2007 and 2011. The two political leaders are accused of violating quarry license conditions, which led to a loss of about Rs 28 crore to the exchequer.
