Passenger caught with Methamphetamine drug worth crores hidden in bag at Coimbatore Airport
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel seized 1.2 kg of drug (Methamphetamine) from a passenger at the Coimbatore International Airport on Saturday morning. The value of the drug in the international market is more than crore rupees. According to sources, K Nagarathinam, 44 from Thuvakudi in Trichy, was about to board a flight to Sharja at Coimbatore international airport on Saturday morning. He kept an empty suitcase and before the baggage check in a scanner, he told the CISF personnel that he was given the suitcase by his friend in front of the airport main gate and he was advised to wait in the waiting hall after the security check. However he suspected something was there in the suitcase. Immediately, the CISF officials scanned the suitcase and found something like salt concealed in the bottom of the suitcase. Immediately the officials handed over it to customs officials who tested the salt and found that it was Methamphetamine drug, and the value of the drug is more than crore rupees. Immediately CISF personnel detained the passenger Nagarathinam for further investigation.
