New lease of life: Uprooted trees from Madurai collectorate re-planted at a new site
In a sensitive gesture 15 trees in Madurai Collectorate office premises were uprooted and transported for re-plantation at a new site. The trees were removed for construction of a new office building. Wide pits having six feet width and six feet deep were prepared in advance to plant the uprooted trees. A mixture of sand, red soil, cattle manure and Coco peat along with rooting hormone powder was put in the pits. The hormone powder helps in quick re-generation of roots.
