Madurai: Mob beats up woman suspecting ‘child-lifter’, rescued by cops

In another case of lynching, a woman was mercilessly beaten up by a mob in Tamil Nadu’s Madurai. This comes after five men were lynched by mob in Maharashtra’s Dhule. Suspecting the woman as child-lifter, the mob tied her hands and beats her up. However, timely information to the police saved that life of the woman. In a bizarre turn of events, the temple in Melur village, where the incident happened, announces on loudspeaker that two child-lifters were roaming free in the village and one of them was handed over to police. Cops say they are investing the matter.
