For the past 40 days, a leopard’s movements had been worrying the Karadimadi people in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. A number of sheep and cattle had been killed by the leopard in question around the mountaineering villages. The farmers had demanded that necessary action be taken by officials to catch the animal and attempts had been on for 10 days. The 7 year old leopard was finally caught in the wee hours of the morning. The leopard is planned to be released in the Tangkarmahad Forest in Erode district.
