Greater Chennai Corporation installs vertical gardens on flyover pillars

Greater Chennai Corporation installing vertical gardens along pillars of the GN Chetty flyover in T Nagar. This is being installed with an aim to stop defacing of bridge pillars. In a pilot project, eight of the 20 pillars will be covered with vertical gardens of green and red-leafed plants. Effort has been modelled on similar projects on Bengaluru and Nagpur where some metro rail pillars don vertical gardens.
