Chennai: Southern railways install rooftop solar panels at three stations

In a move towards sustainable development, the Southern Railway authorities have installed rooftop solar panels at Dr MGR Central, Chennai Egmore and Moor Market Complex stations. The initiative is aimed at covering a fourth of the stations’ electricity requirements in a sustainable manner using solar energy. The project began in late 2017.
