Chennai Metro Rail seeks space, near century-old Panagal Park stares at uncertainty

The near century-old Panagal Park stares at uncertainty as Chennai Metro Rail seeks space. There is little clarity about how much of the near century-old facility will be taken over for metro rail’s phase-2. So the fate of the iconic Panagal Park in T Nagar hangs in the balance. While Chennai Metro Rail Ltd (CMRL) officials say only the entry and exit points to the underground station planned will come up on the facility, a group, Friends of Panagal Park, met on Sunday morning to create awareness among visitors about the imminent threat.
