Drug addiction is rising among youth at an alarming rate. This problem can only be controlled if family members are vigilant about the victims and the government is also concerned to curb drug menace across different states. Recently in a drug addiction control spree, Congress Member of Parliament Ravneet Singh Bittu met drug addicts in the by lanes of Ludhiana. Substance abuse affects millions of people around the world, regardless of their respective wealth or fame. And recovery is not a guarantee. The drug addicts spoke candidly and narrated their ordeal to Ravneet Singh Bittu and expressed their helplessness from coming out of drug abuse. The drug addicts claimed that wide circulation of drugs like 'Chitta' still prevails in the state. MP Ravneet Singh Bittu is helping them out and connecting them with de-addiction centers to bring them out of this drug menace. Recently Punjab Cabinet Minister Tripat Rajinder Singh Bajwa announced that every village that turns drug free would get a grant of Rs 5 lakh to purchase sports goods for the youth.
