In a shocking incident, a youth was allegedly beaten to death by an enraged sangat and sewadars at Golden Temple in Amritsar on Saturday evening. The youth was lynched after he barged into the sanctum sanctorum of the shrine during the recital of 'Rehras Sahib', stepped on the ‘Rumala Sahib’ and picked up the sword placed in front of the 'Saroop' of Sri Guru Granth Sahb. Former Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal expressed sadness over the sacrilege at the holy Golden Temple and demanded a probe over the matter.
