Punjab: PWD suspended 4 engineers for negligence of duty

The Punjab public works department (PWD) has suspended 4 engineers for the negligence of duty. The action was taken after a video went viral of the road construction work being carried out revealed negligence of the SDE and JE. The road was being carried out during rain. The PWD minister Harbhajan Singh said that the Punjab government would not tolerate any negligence in duty on the part of any government employees in the state. He said that the headquarters of both the suspended officials would be the office of the chief engineer (headquarters) Patiala during the suspension.
