Along with Green Diwali, another campaign went on in the Tricity to save children working in the cracker industry. The UT department of environment and NGO Yuvsatta organised an awareness talk at the school, where children pledged to shun firecrackers and protect the rights of thousands of children working in cracker factories. Environment director Debendra Dalai said, "Youngsters should ideally say no to use of fire-crackers as it's harmful for the environment." Pramod Sharma, coordinator of Yuvsatta, said "We will continue the campaign and reach out directly to more than 10,000 local students."
