A 76-year-old man preserves precious instrument 'Bassoon'
A 76-year old Surinder Singh Billa Matia of the Hoshiarpur district is preserving the precious instrument bassoon, an instrument that is becoming extinct in Punjabi culture. He uses this instrument to amuse visitors from other nations. He asserts that contemporary artists pay little attention to this instrument. Surinder Billa is a Doordarshan and Radio performer who has collaborated with several well-known musicians on the alghoza instrument.
