Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Yuva Morcha national president and BJP Member of Parliament from Bengaluru South Tejasvi Surya on October 01 spoke about the Bengaluru Metro Rail Project. He blamed the Congress government of Karnataka over delay in the Byappanahalli - KR Pura stretch to the public for political reasons. He demanded the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister to open the line. "About 5 to 6 lakh people use the Bengaluru metro every day. Around 50-60% of this number is set to get benefits if the Byappanahalli - KR Pura stretch opens. The state government despite receiving all approvals and green signalling from the CMRS after its inspection, is still delaying the opening of this line... However, the state government is not opening the operations to the public only because it is waiting for either Rahul Gandhi or some other leader of the Congress to come and inaugurate this project... It frustrates people to see a public infrastructure project that is ready, but the state government is not opening it for political reasons. I demand the CM and the Dy CM to immediately open this line for the public and not let the people of Bengaluru suffer,” said Tejasvi Surya.
