Namma Metro: TBM lowered at Bamboo Bazar for tunnelling work

A TBM has been lowered at Bamboo Bazar in Bengaluru from where tunnelling work will begin for underground section of Metro. The TBM will bore 2.5 to 5 metres length of tunnel per day. Officials of the Bengaluru Metro say that the tunnelling work is proceeding slightly behind schedule, and it has also been affected due to coronavirus outbreak first in China, and now due to the precautions being taken in India. BMRCL has set a deadline of 2024 for the commissioning of the underground section of Metro.
