At the Raisina Dialogue 2026, US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau highlighted India’s growing role on the global stage. He described the 21st century as “a century in which we expect to see the rise of India” and emphasized the importance of a strong US-India partnership for mutual interests. Landau pointed to India’s population, economic strength, and human resources as factors shaping the future. Stressing that engagement is strategic rather than charitable, he also expressed excitement over the nearly completed US-India trade deal, reinforcing the United States’ commitment to deepening ties and collaborating with India to address global challenges in the decades ahead.
