Bhupendra Patel took charge as Gujarat chief minister for his second term. Patel took oath on December 12 in presence of PM Modi and HM Amit Shah. The BJP won a massive majority of 156 seats in the 182-member House in the Assembly election. Congress was reduced to 17 seats, while the Aam Aadmi Party got 5 seats.
