At least 18 people have died after consuming spurious liquor in Botad and Ahmedabad districts of Gujarat. The state government has launched a probe into the tragedy and even the anti-terrorism squad has joined the investigations. Raids have begun to nab the accused. Gujarat is a dry state where liquor is not available. The victims reportedly consumed country-made liqour purchased from some rural areas.
