Bhupendra Patel named next chief minister of Gujarat

A day after Vijay Rupani stepped down as the chief minister of Gujarat, BJP MLA from Ghatlodiya assembly seat Bhupendra Patel has been named as the next CM of the state. He is likely to meet the state governor at 6 pm today and stake claim to form the government. Bhupendra Patel thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president JP Nadda and union minister Amit Shah after becoming chief minister of Gujarat. Earlier today Bharatiya Janata Party's legislative party held a meeting at the party's headquarters in Gandhinagar to finalise the name of the new CM.
