Ahmedabad authorities bust international drug ring with cryptocurrency links

On September 30, Crime Branch Additional CP Neeraj Badgujar disclosed a collaborative effort between the Ahmedabad Cyber Crime and Customs Department in investigating a drug haul. The joint case aims to apprehend the culprits involved in an operation where drugs were discovered being traded via social media and the dark web, with payments made using cryptocurrency. The seized contraband, which included over 5.9 kg of processed 'ganja' and 2.31 grams of cocaine, was valued at more than Rs 48 lakhs. The investigation is actively underway to apprehend those responsible for this illicit trade involving 20 couriers dispatched from various countries, including the US, Canada, and Thailand.
