Union Budget 2013: Govt refuses to learn from flop spectrum sale
NEW DELHI: The government has finally acknowledged that it has failed to mop up the expected Rs 40,000 crore from spectrum sale but has refused to learn from its experience.
After two flop shows, it has scaled down the revenue projection from spectrum sale to Rs 19,440 crore during 2012-13, from Rs 58,217 crore budgeted at the start of the year. The collection would include licence fee and revenue share, in addition to the spectrum charges.
But for the next fiscal too, the government has budgeted to raise almost Rs 41,000 crore.
