Budget 2013: BJP, Left, Trinamool and Aam Aadmi Party reactions

BJP:
“It is unimaginative, dull and boring. There is nothing for women, youth and poor… neither is there anything to boost agriculture or for controlling prices." Sushma Swaraj (BJP), leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha.
“The budget is verbose and extremely low on substance. It has a bit of jugglery to cut down on expenditure. Having pushed the economy in a distress situation, he (Chidambaram) comes out with a budget of helplessness.In the first nine years, the UPA government pushed the economy in distress and then a helpless finance minister comes out with a budget which has little elbow space," Arun Jaitley, (BJP) leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha said.
TMC:
“Election-oriented budget, which cannot be implemented. It is directionless. Right to employment, right to food has been not touched upon. Farmers sidelined as there are no indications to control fertilizer and diesel prices ... basically juglury of words. Cash transfer cannot be implemented, as it will take long for all to get their Adhaar cards.” Sudip Bandopadhyay, Trinamool Congress.
AAP:
“The finance minister has made a clever attempt to mislead the public in an election year… Shockingly, the government has not come up with any measure to curb corruption and control the parallel black economy that the public is so visibly exercised about.” Yogendra Yadav, Aam Aadmi Party.
Left:
"The budget is neither growth oriented nor inclusive. It will enrich the rich and impoverish the poor. The finance minister has balanced the budget by presuming revenues will increase by about 20%. But, last year, corporate income tax fell by 4.9%, customs by 18.9% and central excise by 16%. So from where does he expect such huge revenues? This is unrealizable. Soon, we will see the government come to Parliament for supplementary grants for funds." Sitaram Yechury, CPM.
