Jai Malhar breaks TRP record

Jai Malhar is one those few Marathi shows on television which has a male protagonist based on a mythical character. This big budget mythological drama about Lord Khandoba, produced by the veteran filmmaker Mahesh Kothare which come as a welcome break from the emotional family sagas, has secured a top position on the TRP chart.An elated Mahesh Kothare recently tweeted, “Jay Malhar breaks all records for Marathi Television - today's TRP is 5.6 Yelkot Yelkot Jay Malhar !!! @adinathkothare @UrmilaKothare”(sic). Jai Malhar had previously crossed 1700 mark in TVT (television viewership in thousands) and went on to become the top rated show at the 7 pm slot across all channels. A few days back, this number one show also completed 200 hundred episodes. Devdatta Nage is the playing the title role. Isha Kaskar and Surabhi Hande are portraying the characters of Banai and Mhalsa respectively.
