Rahul's shooting from home experience during lockdown

During lockdown many channels kept their

shows

going by airing content shot by the

actors

themselves from the confines of their homes.

Raw footage

shot on phones and SLRs is sent to editors to create the final product. Though some of the shots are possible with a static camera and basic lights, in most cases the actors need at least one person to come to their rescue.

A popular Bengali channel has started airing a show based on the real-life experiences of people in the lockdown. Rahul Banerjee, who plays a doctor in one of the short stories, has shot his part from home with the help of his brother-like roommate, Upadesh Saha. Though Upadesh has done some small-scale acting, cinematography was totally new for him. “It’s one of the toughest jobs I’ve done. While it is difficult for

Rahulda

to act on the basis of assumptions, it is equally tough for me to follow him. But all said and done, it’s been a learning experience,” he says.
