Devlina enjoys her first television debut shoot

During lockdown many channels kept their shows going by airing content shot by the

actors

themselves from the confines of their homes.

Raw footage

shot on phones and SLRs is sent to editors to create the final product. Though some of the shots are

possible

with a

static camera

and

basic lights

, in most cases the actors need at least one person to come to their rescue.
Devlina Kumar has working in one of the short stories where she plays the newly wedded wife of Gourab Chatterjee. While Gourab is directing it, the camera and lights are being handled by Devlina’s neighbour, Rup Kumar Chatterjee. “Rup is good with photography, but he has never done cinematography,” says Devlina. Meanwhile, Rup, who’s having fun shooting with the duo, says, “Cinematography is like an ocean and I was a bad swimmer. However, we’ve managed to pull it off well.”
