An out-and-out family entertainer,
Raj Chakrabarty
's Bolo Dugga Maiki is loaded with the Puja flavour. In the film, starring
Nusrat Jahan and Ankush in the lead,
Shamyo
Ray , the grandson of a wealthy village man named Radharaman, is a compulsive liar. When
Radharaman
decides to stop giving money to his grandson, Shamyo takes a train to his village to convince him. During the journey , he finds a girl called Uma. He clicks selfies with her while she's asleep and sends it to his friends claiming he's going on a holiday with her. As the pictures go viral, Uma's family assumes she has eloped with Shamyo. “The audience will have to watch the film to find out if Shamyo finds his true love in Uma and whether or not Uma reciprocates. With Puja in the backdrop, the feel-good film will either make people fall in love again or give them a reason to laugh their hearts out,“ said Raj. CT asked the film's cast and the director what makes BDMK a must-watch this Puja. Excerpts...
Raj Chakrabarty: Puja is all about spreading happiness and love. I can ensure that after watching BDMK, you will come out of the theatre with a smile on your face and your beloved's hand in yours. Full of comedy , puja rituals and innocence, the film is also high on Bangaliana. The music is brilliant and the audience will be able to relate to it. Above all, it's a film by Raj Chakrabarty -who knows exactly how to deal with love (smiles)!
Nusrat Jahan: Among all the Puja releases, BDMK is the only one that has the festival as its backdrop. It will bring alive rare moments that are gradually fading away from our lives -like the whole family coming together to celebrate
Durga
Puja and much more. There's fun, romance, family values and a lot more that one can't afford to miss.
Ankush: After years the audience will get to watch a film which can be perfectly described as `Pujor premer chhobi'! You will fall in love with this family drama that will make you both laugh and cry . Everything -from the songs and ambience to the story -carries the essence of Puja.
