Sravani Kondapally reportedly died by suicide on Tuesday (September 8) night.
As per the latest reports, the actress was found hanging from the ceiling in the bathroom at her residence in Madhuranagar, Hyderabad. The body was later shifted to
Osmania hospital
for postmortem.
Police investigation is still on. Meanwhile, Sravani's family alleged that harassment by boyfriend Devraj Reddy forced the actress to end her life. They have lodged a complaint against Devraj in SR Nagar police station. The actress' family further accused that Devraj, hailing from Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, has been harassing Sravani for a while now.
Shravani’s brother Shiva explained the sequence of events to the media and said, “She had to attend a shoot on Wednesday and she locked her room under the guise of taking a bath. My mother Paparatnam was busy cooking for us in the kitchen. When she did not come out of her room even after fifteen minutes, I peeked in and could see something was wrong. I called my sister’s friend immediately and he helped us break open the door, but we were too late.”
He added, “Devaraj lives in Secunderabad but I believe he escaped to Kakinada last night. My sister already paid him rupees 30,000 and 80,000 on two separate occasions because he was blackmailing her with some personal pictures. On Tuesday night, she told us he blackmailed her again and she was feeling bad. I didn’t think she would take this step.”
