Telugu actor Gundu Hanumantha Rao breathed his last on Monday (19th February 2018) in Hyderabad. The actor, 61, was survived by his wife and two children.
The actor, who has nearly 400 films to his credit, was a part of a host of TV shows as well. He was honored with three Nandi Awards for TV programmes. Amrutham is one of the many serials that brought a lot of fame for the actor.
Hanumantha Rao was born in Vijaywada on October 10, 1956. Starting early in the theatre scene, his first role was in a stage-play, 'Ravana Brahma'. He got a break on the silver screen with the iconic 1987 film Aaha Na Pellanta.
He was suffering from kidney related ailments and was undergoing treatment for the same. Actor Chiranjeevi had helped him to bear the medical expenses. Moreover, the Telangana Government had also extended financial help to him. He has also gone through a heart surgery.
Hanumantha Rao's son, who is studying in the USA, had returned home some months back to take care of his ailing father.

Several film personalities lent voice to their emotions and expressed their heartfelt condolences.
