Hyderabad residents were treated with a pleasant surprise as a 'Sun Halo', a rare event was spotted in the city today (June 2). A 'Sun Halo' is a celestial phenomenon wherein the sun is surrounded with a rainbow ring also known as 22-degree circular halo.

Many netizens including Telugu celebs have shared their excitement over this rare sighting.

A few days ago, Bengaluru residents have also witnessed the same phenomenon. This process is believed to occur when the Sun’s rays get deflected or refracted through the hexagonal ice crystals that float in the cirrus clouds. This phenomenon is quite common in cold nations, however, in India, it is believed to be a rare sighting.
