Mahesh will undergo craniofacial reconstruction surgery and he will soon need surgery for his damaged left eye as well. Mahesh reportedly suffered a diffuse axonal injury in the car crash and was soon shifted to a private hospital in Chennai after receiving initial treatment in the Nellore Medical hospital, according to sources.
Wishes and prayers from his colleagues, friends in the media, and entertainment fraternities for his quick recovery have been pouring in since Saturday.
Mahesh's car reportedly crashed into a truck on the highway and the actor-filmmaker suffered major injuries in the incident.
Mahesh is a popular media professional, film critic, who got close to the masses with his stint in Bigg Boss Telugu season 1 hosted by Jr. NTR. He appeared as a panelist in many TV debate shows as well. Mahesh is known for his controversial remarks on societal issues and current affairs and was also banned by the Hyderabad police from entering the city in 2018 for allegedly hurting the sentiments by his controversial comments on Lord Rama.
