Eminent playback singer-dubbing artist Mano, who walked into the popular comedy show Jabardasth soon after Nagababu Konidela's exit, is missing from the show for a while now.

He is now a part of the upcoming season of the popular TV series Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Telugu Championship. Commenting on his exit from Jabardasth in his recent interaction with ETimes TV, Mano said, "It's a brief gap I should say, due to my shows that got postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are finishing all the shows with Ilaiyaraja and AR Rahman that were finalised in 2020 which will continue till February. After March, I'll balance both the shows.

He adds, "I'm a big fan of comedy and people close to me are aware of that and my comedy timing too. I've thoroughly enjoyed my 3 years time with those amazing comedians. It is not easy to churn out comedy consistently. It was great being around such artists."

Talking about his association with Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Telugu, Mano said, "As a singer, this is like my home ground. This is my job. I've been a judge on the show previously. I'm coming back to the show probably after 5-6 seasons now and it feels really great."

Mano is currently judging the show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Telugu Championship which is set to be launched on January 29 (Sunday). He is sharing the judging panel with SP Sailaja and Anantha Sriram for the season to be hosted by Pradeep Machiraju. Mano is stepping into the shoes of prominent music composer Koti, who has been associated with TV series for a very long time now.

The 14th edition of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Telugu which concluded in August, 2022, crowned Shruthika Samudrala as the winner of the season. She has lifted the prestigious trophy and received a prize money of Rs. 1 lakh and a car as well. Shruthika, who is an Arts Graduate, wants to pursue higher education and a career in playback singing as well.

Sa Re Ga Ma Pa always has a special place in my heart.. it's always on the top floor of his heart. It's my favourite show and has a long association with the series as well. I've hosted a season of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa even in the initial days of my anchoring career. Right from the channel to the contestants and musicians, I've known most of them. Now, a brand new season is bringing all of them together. It is more like a family reunion for me.

I feel the audience look forward to something entertaining beyond just the music. And it becomes our responsibility to entertain them with that extra bit of fun and frolic along with those performances. So, I try to help the contestants be comfortable on stage while the mentors and judges look after their musical journey. We just try to ensure it is not a strict classroom environment out there. We are indeed very lucky that we have a team that puts in a lot of efforts to keep every season refreshing.

We have seen many talented youngsters coming up and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa has produced many such gems. I think parents are also playing a key role in this. They've encouraged a lot of kids. Many have started learning music even after college and their parents are very supportive. This is a nice change and that's the connection I have with Sa Re Ga Ma Pa.

Every season makes a difference for me. I keep learning something new about music, songs, musicians and the beauty of such shows is that you'll also get to know the interesting story behind a song.

Sreemukhi has done the previous season when I couldn't accommodate the show. We don't have any contests. We share a great rapport indeed. It's just our schedules and other parameters that often decide who'll host that particular season of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. She is currently busy with other shows.

We have some great talents, who have already proven their potential and one can expect not just one but 10-15 'Life of Ram' sort of performances by Yesaswi. It is going to be a musical carnival is all I can say.

To me, having the Li'l Champs also this season is something really special. There is so much to learn from these kids. But all the four teams are very promising and uncompromising. We've just shot for two episodes and there's a lot to come.
