Sreerama Chandra on coping with cold feet during Bigg Boss Telugu 5: I had swollen feet with crystals all over the next morning, it was like Vikram sir's prosthetic make up from 'I'

Sreerama Chandra, one of the five popular finalists of Bigg Boss Telugu season 5, is now gearing up for his anchoring debut with Indian Idol Telugu, the soon-to-be-launched music reality show on a popular video streaming platform. His road to the finale wasn't certainly a cake walk as he had to endure a lot of pain in the last leg of his BB journey. For the unversed, Sreerama suffered with cold feet during the ice challenge as a part of the ticket to finale task. Ever since, he has been undergoing treatment for the same. In an exclusive chat with ETimes TV, Sreerama Chandra opened up on his injury, the trauma he had to deal with, his recovery and much more. Excerpts...

I recently started getting massages. My doctors said my feet are now ready for a massage.

My feet skin got burnt due to extreme hot and cold temperatures. So, my skin had to heal first. I still have numbness in my toes and portions of my feet. It is a 3-month recovery period. I'll have to see a neuro physician soon.

No matter how strong you are, we all are humans at the core. Moreover, being a Telugu boy, I was all more sensitive. I hardly cried 3-4 times in my life so far. Usually, I'm alone when I do that. But the atmosphere in the BB house towards the finale was very challenging.

The ice task was on 28th or 29th of November and I had swollen feet and crystals all over my feet the next morning. It was like Vikram sir's prosthetic make up in his movie 'I' (chuckles).

For the next 3-4 days, surgeons were pulling out all the water from my feet with the help of syringes. I'm usually very scared of hospitals and needles. But they had to squeeze out the water and portions of the skin got peeled off, it was a horrible experience.

Besides the treatment, I was unfortunately tagged as the 'Lone Ranger' of the house and whoever I could connect with got evicted. I literally had none to relate to or share my pain. I couldn't even walk, shower or even sit on the pot. I had to always hold my legs upwards for better blood circulation. Dealing with this painful treatment, those nominations, fights and the game, was very stressful.

There were moments I felt I shouldn't take part in the ice task. At times, I almost gave up and was like, 'I don't want to fight in anymore, please pull me out of this. I just want to have my people around.' And just when I was trying to pull myself together, they played this 'Gelupu Thalupule' song and the breakdown was inevitable. It just brought out everything I was suppressing all the while.

It was very nice of Sunny, Kajal, Maanas, Shanmukh and others who helped me in the house. Thanks to BB for giving me some friends for lifetime. And I can't thank enough my beloved SRCians, my extended family who supported me throughout the BB journey. They always stood by me. As artists, this recognition, love and support is what we crave for. I'm forever thankful for all the love ever.
