The audience witnessed a thriller in the race for the contenders' task. This happened in the spicy chicken task, where Shobha Shetty won over Gautam by a very thin margin.
Coming to the task, Bigg Boss instructed Shobha Shetty to eat the bowl of 45 spicy chicken pieces. Well, Shobha was unable to finish the bowl due to the spiciness and left the task mid-way by eating 27 out of 45 chicken pieces. Shobha Shetty finished 27 pieces, which became the benchmark for the other contestants - Subha Sree, Gautam, and Pallavi Prashanth.
Whoever eats the 28 pieces of chicken in a lesser time compared to Shobha Shetty will be declared as a contender for the Powerastra task. But, if no one fails to reach this benchmark then Shobha Shetty will be declared as a contender for the Powerastra.
Well, Gautam and Pallavi Prashanth finished the chicken bowl of 28 pieces. But here comes the twist where Gautam ate all 27 pieces fully and left a single piece in half. Sandeep, who is the sanchalak for this task, decides that Gautam's count is 27.
Then the Bigg Boss gave a ruling that - If any contestant wants to replace Shobha Shetty, then they need to eat more chicken than her. Even if anyone eats the same number of pieces then Shobha Shetty will be declared as a contender.
Based on the inputs of Sandeep, Bigg Boss declared Shobha Shetty as the winner of this task as Gautam failed to reach the benchmark by a single piece. It came out as a big surprise to the audience and a thrill to Shobha Shetty as they weren't expecting this kind of result.
Well, this thrilling win put Shobha Shetty into the race for the Powerastra competition.
